This Vegan Honey Mustard dressing is easy to make with just a few ingredients. This sauce is great as a vegan salad dressing or dipping sauce. This sweet and tangy taste will be hard to resist!
Honey mustard is an old-fashioned classic that many of us have grown up with. It was about time we added a vegan version. We've listed a few substitutions that you can use to fit your pantry and personal taste. Let's start preparing!
Ingredients you'll need
Vegan Mayonnaise:We usually purchase vegan mayonnaise at Follow Your Heart. However, there are many options available today in major grocery chains. If you can't find Follow Your Heart in your local store, look for vegan-friendly brands like Chosen Foods Just Mayo Hellman's Best Foods Sir Kensington's and Primal Kitchen. The front label of most vegan-friendly brands will state this, but it is important to read the ingredient list for any added eggs.
Whipped Garlic Spread:Adds an incredible garlicky kick to sweet and savory dressing. We love the flavor of whipped garlic spread over garlic powder.
MustardFor a delicious flavor, combine Dijon mustard with yellow mustard. Dijon mustard can be a surprising food that isn't vegan friendly because of the way it's made. If you want to make sure your honey mustard is vegan-friendly, choose organic Dijon mustard. Or check out our list of vegan Dijon Mustard!
Vegan Honey:Real, unrefined honey is not vegan. However, vegan-friendly honey does exist! You can buy one of the 5 Vegan Honey brands or you can make your own using Michelle's Vegan Honey recipe. You can also use agave nectar or brown rice syrup as an alternative liquid sweetener to give your honey a stronger flavor.
Apple Cider Vinegar:A little apple cider vinegar will brighten up and balance the dressing. White vinegar or lemon juice can be substituted if necessary.
Spices A simple blend of onion, paprika and sea salt with black pepper will do.

Enjoy. Enjoy right away or chill in the refrigerator until chilled.
Serving Suggestions
Vegan honey mustard is almost as versatile as the Vegan Ranch Dressing. It can be used as a spread, salad dressing or dip. We've listed a few ways we like to use it.
As a creamy dressing for salads: Elevate your favorite salads by adding a drizzle of the delicious dressing, Vegan Feta cheese, 5-Ingredient croutons, and grilled Romaine lettuce. It can be used as a salad dressing for your favorite pasta recipes, like this Fall Pasta Salad.
As dip:Perhaps the best way to enjoy this creamy vegan honey-mustard dressing. It's impossible to go wrong dipping our Vegan Chicken Nuggets or Beer Battered Onion rings, Air Fryer Sprouts chips, Kid-Friendly baked vegetable Tots, Simple roasted vegetables, or classic sweet potatoes fries.
Spread: Add honey mustard to your next vegan or veggie burger. Try it on our Vegan Black Bean Burgers or Grillable Veggie Burgers. Spread it on Whole Wheat Sandwich Bread and top with your favorite Homemade Vegan Deli Meat to make an epic sandwich.
Storage Instructions
If you store leftover dressing in an airtight container, such as a squeeze bottle or mason jar for easy drizzling, it will last up to a week in the fridge. This creamy dressing should not be frozen as mayonnaise dressings will change in texture and consistency when thawed. This recipe yields about 1 cup. You can adjust the recipe to suit your needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can a plant based diet be dangerous?
Many people have enjoyed the health benefits of adopting a plant based diet. However, any type diet can prove to be dangerous if it's not properly managed. People transitioning to a plant-based lifestyle should carefully consider proper vitamin and mineral intake, such as B12, iron, zinc, and Omega 3 fatty acids. A diet lacking in these essential nutrients can lead to health issues and deficiencies. A vegan/plant-based lifestyle can also mean avoiding dairy and eggs which could lead to muscle loss. To avoid potential health risks or nutritional pitfalls, those following plant-based diets must adjust their diets according to their needs and consult a doctor or nutritionist when necessary.
What are the benefits of a plant-based diet?
The benefits of a plant-based diet include improved heart health, better digestive health, increased energy levels, reduced stress hormones, and potential environmental protection. Plant-based proteins include beans, legumes and whole grains. They also contain lower levels of saturated and fiber than animal protein. Vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, vitamins and other beneficial substances can be found in plant-based diets. These can help to protect against cell damage due to inflammation and oxidative stress, which can lead into chronic diseases like heart disease and cancer. Eating more fruits and vegetables can also increase fiber intake, which helps feed gut bacteria and promotes digestive health. Research shows that a plant based diet may be able to improve moods by reducing stress hormones. Alternatives to factory farming are also becoming popular, such as switching away from animal protein.
What happens when I stop eating meat?
There are many changes that will occur when you give up meat. You may experience a higher intake of fiber and lower levels of saturated fat when you switch from meat to plant-based proteins, such as beans, legumes, nuts, whole grain, and soy-based foods. This change can improve heart health and benefit overall digestive health. Due to better digestion and the elimination inflammatory foods such as animal proteins, you might experience an increase in energy. The ability to reduce stress hormones caused by excessive animal protein consumption may make your moods more stable. Furthermore, switching to a plant-based diet is an increasingly popular way to combat environmental damage caused by factory farming.
Can children follow a plant-based diet?
Because of their many health benefits, plant-based diets are growing in popularity among adults. Parents may be concerned about whether a plant-based diet can be safe for their children. A well-planned diet that meets all of their nutritional needs can be a safe option for children.
Plant-based diets can provide all the necessary nutrients children need to grow and develop. It is vital that children receive enough iron, calcium and vitamin D. For growth and development, protein is vital. Good plant-based sources of protein include beans and lentils, tofu and nuts. Fortified cereals and leafy plants contain iron. Calcium is crucial for healthy bones and can be obtained from fortified plant milk, calcium-set tofu, and leafy greens. Vitamin D is important for bone health and can be obtained from fortified plant milk and sunlight exposure. Vitamin B12, an essential component of healthy nerves and blood vessels, is usually only found in animal products. Children on a plant-based diet may require a B12 supplement.
It is also important to ensure that children on a plant-based diet consume enough calories to meet their energy needs. Whole foods should include fruits, vegetables and whole grains. To meet their energy requirements, children may need to eat less or eat more often.
To make sure your child's nutrition is adequate, parents should consult a registered or licensed dietitian. They can help with meal planning, supplementation, portion sizes, and the appropriate age for each child.
A well-planned, plant-based diet can be safely followed by children. With proper planning and guidance from a registered dietitian or healthcare professional, parents can ensure that their children eat a nutritious and healthy plant-based diet.
Are plant-based diets less expensive than other diets.
Plant-based diets don't necessarily have to be more expensive than others. You can eat a balanced plant-based diet with minimal expense, depending on what type of food you eat. You can find grains, beans as well as eggs, legumes, nuts, and potatoes at very low prices. They are also a great source for protein and have lower overall costs. With proper meal planning, you can save money by purchasing in bulk or using sales to reduce food expenses. Besides individual ingredients, there are now many ready-to-eat plant-based meals that can further reduce your grocery expense.

How do you make sure you are getting enough protein through a plant-based lifestyle?
Making sure you get enough protein on a plant-based diet is possible with the right combination of ingredients. Plant-based proteins include legumes, nuts and seeds, as well as tempeh, tempeh, and tofu. Regularly incorporating these foods into your meals will ensure you meet your daily requirements. To optimize nutrient intake while following a vegan diet, consider superfoods like spinach, goji berries, and chia seeds packed with vitamins and minerals.
In addition to eating plant-based proteins in meals throughout the day, it is beneficial to supplement a vegan diet with additional protein sources; look for products like plant-based protein powders, nut butter, or collagen peptides (derived from plants) that can be blended into smoothies or other recipes as desired. If you don't feel you are getting enough protein from your food, you can look into high-quality supplements. These include pills, capsules or tablets that provide the necessary amount of protein.
A vegan lifestyle allows them to quickly achieve their recommended daily nutrients by planning ahead and making conscious efforts in different ways to include plant-based proteins in their meals.
